Join Claire Mace and Adrian Kingsley-Hughes at beautiful North Wales retreat centre Trigonos for a yoga retreat all about finding the light in the darkness.

In the belly of the darkness, do we still dream of the light?

In Celtic traditions, the Irish name Imbolc is given to the cross quarter day at this time of year.

The old Irish name for Imbolc is “i mbolg,” and is very similar to the Welsh phrase “yn y bol,” which means “in the belly,” reminding us that in a short time spring will come and lambs will be born.

This three day, two night retreat is all about looking for, tuning in, and connecting to that potential for renewal within.

Whether it be a “light at the end of the tunnel” light, the light — and warmth — of spring, or creating an inner light and shining that out into the world.

There will be mixed-level, more active yoga practices on offer on the Friday afternoon and Saturday and Sunday mornings. There will also be relaxing candlelight yoga practices available after dinner to get you in the snooze zone.

Subject to the weather, we’ll also be offering you storytelling, star gazing, a fire ceremony, and a guided walk in nature.

There will also be free time to rest, relax, down-regulate, be in nature, and chat to others.

TUNE INTO the light in the darkness

One of North Wales’ foremost retreat venues, the clean and comfortable environment at Trigonos is conducive to giving you permission to deeply rest, relax and unwind.

The Trigonos site has a beautifully tranquil stream running through the grounds, with woodlands and lawns to explore, and situated on the edge of the Nantlle lake, surrounded by the epic splendour of the mountains of Snowdonia.

Accommodation for this retreat will be in single, twin or double ensuite rooms in the historic Plas Baladeulyn house.

Trigonos’ chefs are legendary: the vegetarian and vegan food is always inspiring and nourishing.

Yoga teacher, singer and storyteller Claire Mace is based in North Wales. She is deeply moved by the depth of this ancient landscape and the power of nature. Her gift is in creating safe space for students to become more embodied, and therefore better placed to move through the world.  She runs yoga classes, workshops, retreats and teacher trainings that guide students to practice where they are at, working at their edge compassionately, no matter what their age, weight or flexibility.

Having discovered the benefits of yoga for himself, Adrian Kingsley-Hughes is now passionate about bringing the benefits that yoga offers to other. Born and bred on Anglesey, he has a deep keenness for the outdoors, and believes that there is great healing in incorporating more of what the natural world has to offer into our daily lives.
